Hunger-free Campus
A flagship initiative of the Govt. of Kerala, Hunger-free Campus is a unique subsidised noon-meal scheme for students, started on 5 January 2023. In the current academic year, more than 75% students (136/180) are beneficiaries of the scheme. Under this scheme, the student beneficiaries get standard meals for Rs.10/-, with the Govt. providing 75% subsidy. Ms.Sandhya Rani K. K., of the Kudumbasree, is the Service-provider. A committee comprising thePrincipal, Sr. Superintendent, all HoDs, Student Coordinators and the Service-provider, keeps track of the scheme. The scheme was operational till 15 March 2024 for the current year.Hunger-free Campus has received good media coverage, owing to its unique character and involvement of the student community of GCE.
